Gellie-Laaketje - Southern-Sami culture today
The southern-Sami people you will meet in this presentation explain how it is to be a Sami person today. Their accounts give us an insight into southern Sami history and culture. The exhibition introduces women and men of different ages, backgrounds and ways of life, but they all come from the Røros area. Each person introduces an item from Sami culture that they themselves have chosen. The exhibition was first made as a travelling exhibition by the Røros museum in 2001. The content was adapted for the Internet in 2004-2005. The Internet version is in three languages: Norwegian, southern-Sami and English. Click on the exhibit: GELLIE-LAAKTE.
