Our preservation workshop plays an important part in the work of the preservation of old buildings. Windows and doors are repaired at the workshop, mouldings, copings and profiles and other special building details are produced. We can also make exact copies of planks, beams and panels. However, wherever possible we try to use the original timber or other material and change only what has been damaged or has deteriorated beyond repair.
The workshop is also responsible for repair and maintenance of the museum buildings. In addition, we take on work from outside. Some of these tasks vary in nature from repairing and restoring church windows, which are many hundreds of years old, to repairing the interior of a cabin built in 1900. We also have experience in finding solutions with regard to the insulation of buildings without having to resort to changing valuable original doors and windows. Please contact us and we will consider the project and supply free estimates for the work.
|The preservation workshop can take on many different types of work. Here Olaf Piekarski is restoring one of the many window frames in Røros Church .|
