Røros Museum has four separate visitor sites:

"Smelthytta" (the smeltery) situated at "Malmplassen" (the ore yard) at the upper part of the town. 

"Olavsgruva" (Olav’s mine), a visitor's mine located in the mountains, some 13 km north-east of Røros.

"Sleggveien" (the slag street) with its five small wooden houses, is situated across the river from "Smelthytta" and leads to slegghaugene (the slag heaps). "Sleggveien" is open in the summer months.

"Doktortjønna" outdoor recreation park and and Femundsmarka National Park Centre.

"Bygningsvernsenteret" (the centre for preservation of buildings) is situated at Kurantgården at "Malmplassen" (the ore yard).

Røros Museum’s administration offices are situated inside "Smelthytta" (the smeltery).
